Work

Thoughts……….

20th Feb, 2017

Monday 20th February – Back to work today and I’m spending a lot of time thinking about the weekend. Sunday, in particular, was a window on a world which I miss more than anything. It showed me the benefits my friends are now seeing from the house move in to a family home that had been

Listening!

23rd Jan, 2017

23rd January 2017 – Today has a proper winters feel about it. The air is cold and damp and the commute on the bike a chilly one. There is a real beauty about the scenery though as the street lights filter through the morning haze and the sun comes up. I have a number of meetings

The new dawn of a New Year.

1st Jan, 2017

1st January 2017 – I can’t help being in reflective mood again today. It has been days since I’ve seen my little boy and this time hangs heavy when all around me my friends are spending time with their kids. (Loss =’the feeling of grief after losing someone or something of value’). Just because of my

Time to get on.

29th Dec, 2016

29th December 2016 – Today starts with a weights session at the gym. I’ve made sure I have something first thing as this stops me tossing and turning in bed for too long. I’ve isolated the early morning as one of the most difficult times in the day for me. Particularly while the dark, cold mornings

Poles Apart

28th Dec, 2016

28th December 2016 – My life is particularly Bi Polar in nature at the moment. One minute I am living my old life of play parks, coffee shops and board games and then the next I’m alone. Alone with just friends and my thoughts for company. My house is the worst place to be during these days. But that is

Feeling properly depressed again.

10th Dec, 2016

10th December 2016 – My Friday evening crash in mood carries in to Saturday morning and I start to worry about the long lasting psychological damage of all of this. I wonder if my sleep and my confidence will ever return and I think about what this is also doing to my son? It is the same

Friends Rally – But my mood sinks!

27th Nov, 2016

27th November 2016 – Today is my first Sunday morning bike ride in a long time and will be quite a chunky ride given my current state of fitness. We head out of town to meet friends and a bigger Peloton out to Windsor. The weather is cold but with layers on still quite pleasant. Conversation is good and I realize that the Sunday morning bike ride was always my one, More

Practical Plans & Hiding from Christmas.

26th Nov, 2016

26th November 2016 – The plan for today was to head to a friends who kindly offered a bed for the night (oh and yummy dinner) and has recently upgraded the boiler in his house and had a virtually brand new boiler going spare. The boiler at home is over 30 years old, a retro free standing boiler and in need of replacing so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to upgrade this without breaking the bank. It was a plan that ticked all the boxes for a weekend like this. More
